Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, widely known as Battle of Planets outside Japan, is an anime series produced by Tatsunoko Production. First aired in 1972 in Japan, it tells the story about five young superhero ninjas who fight against an international terrorist organisation. We have remastered the famous scene - the death of Joe the Condor, one of the science ninjas.

MEET THE PRODUCTION COMPANY

Tatsunoko Production

Tatsunoko Production is generally recognized as one of the most important animation production companies in Japan. Established in 1962 by two brothers, Kenji Yoshida and Toyoharu Yoshida (aka Ippei Kuri), many of their works were inspired by American superhero comic books given to the brothers by American soldiers after the war. Their notable works include Mach Go Go Go (aka Speed Racer), Gatchaman (aka Battle of the Planets) and Tekkaman. Toyoharu also served as a guest professor at the Kyoto University of Arts and Crafts.
